Statement of Purpose:
To challenge the churches of Canada and throughout the body of Christ to allow their paradigm to shift from that of autonomous, isolated bodies of believers to that of a greater body, Christ’s world- wide body.  To cause the church to think as one body, to love as one body, and to respond as one body.  To forge relationships within the body that cross the lines of nationality, geography, and denomination.  It's about serving the body of Christ by serving the local churches and local ministries all over the world. We work to build relationships that will become the platform for fulfilling God’s plans, together. We desire to mobilize believers within the church to bridge the barriers by establishing relationships cross-culturally. We want to become a part of building God’s church, Christ’s body. We desire to mobilize, to train, and equip the body to fulfill God’s mandate in fulfilling the Great Commission. It’s about groups of people working together bringing talents, resources, and finances to work together in building God’s kingdom. It’s about every member of the body of Christ recognizing that they have a vital supply to provide in prayer and service, and challenging them to give their supply.

The goal of One World Missions is to bridge the church and its responsibility of missions to the nations. We do not in anyway seek to hinder or come between the church and its direct involvement with missions, but rather to enhance those relationships by joining groups of churches together for the express purpose of multiplying our effect. Where the church has failed in the past to recognize it’s responsibility of taking the gospel to the nations, missions agencies have sprung up to fill the gap. This has created a dichotomy, or division, in the body of Christ between the missions world and the rest of the church, as if there are two separate entities with two separate visions. However, this was never God’s intention. God invested the church with the authority and anointing to function as His body: His hands, His feet, His lips, and His heart in the earth. As an organization, OWM is not a para-church missions agency. We are a group of churches committed to seeing God's Word preached to the nations of the world. Our specific role is to direct churches back to their corporate responsibility to accomplish this goal. Our role is to assist them in doing so, no matter the size of their congregations. Our goal is to unite churches both large and small with a vision for seeing the body of Christ working together to build the kingdom of God all over the world. This does not in any way diminish the importance of the individual church's role in missions. Rather, it enhances it. We can accomplish more together than we can apart.
